Jon Hackett joined the Lomax Church of Christ family as the pulpit minister in August of 2022. Jon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of South Alabama and a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Development with a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation from Abilene Christian University. He brings over thirty years’ experience in ministry, leadership training, coaching, and speaking .
Jon is experienced in speaking for non-profit, for-profit, educational, and religious organizations all over the world. He has presented keynote addresses, workshops, seminars, conferences, and special events for audiences both big and small, with different backgrounds, demographics, and cultures. Jon has worked with churches in Alabama, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Costa Rica, Greece, Israel, and Kenya.
In addition to local and foreign ministry efforts, Jon works with community organizations, companies, schools, athletic programs, and business leaders to equip and train them for stronger leadership. He has served as an affiliate trainer and coach for Strata Leadership, LLC., a law enforcement chaplain, and an advisor for various community organizations. He continues to teach and serve organizations in the United States, Central America, Europe, and Africa. Currently, Jon serves as a member of the Board of Governors for the technical college of Kenya Christian Industrial Training Institute and the E. Africa preaching school called Institute of Practical Christian Ministry in Nairobi, Kenya.
Jon’s wife, Rachel, has a Master of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Mobile. She currently is the Special Education/Kindergarten Teacher at Lewis County Elementary School where she works with children with autism and various special needs and learning disabilities.
Jon and Rachel have been married for 27 years, and have two beautiful daughters, Emily Christine, who is 24 years old and Catherine Grace, who is 20 years old. Emily lives and works in Foley, Alabama. Catherine attends Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN
Jeff “Boo” Spears was born and spent his life attending the Lomax Church.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in business at Freed Hardeman University where he met his wife Rose. He started working with his dad in the Yogie’s Purity Milk business and continued working for Purity after the sale of his dad’s business
in total working 38 years. Rose taught school in Lewis County for 30 years and is retired enjoying grand kids, teaching classes at church, her fur babies (dachshunds), and cooking. Jeff and Rose have 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren, that all attend at Lomax.
Jeff began his work as Family Minister with the Lomax church in 2020 supporting and encouraging the congregation and helping families to live and serve God. He is also the Deacon over visitation, the Primetimer’s group planning activities and teaching a Wednesday morning bible class. He also helps organize and drive for Churches of Christ Disaster Relief trips.
